ICS Triplex Acquires Semitech Pte Ltd. ICS Triplex Pte. Ltd. is pleased to announce the recent acquisition of Semitech Pte. Ltd. in Singapore as part of the company's continued growth. This is a great opportunity for ICS Triplex to strengthen its position in the Asia Pacific market and be able to maintain its technology driven, customer led ethos by providing local customers with a wider range of services in addition to the full range of ICS Triplex products. Semitech has worked closely with ICS Triplex in the integration of a number of projects such as the White Tiger Field, Dragon Field RP3, Sabah Gas Pipeline and the Raya A Platform. With close to ten years of experience in integrating projects in the Asia Pacific region, they join ICS Triplex with an extensive list of customers including: ESSO Petroleum Malaysia Inc., ESSO Sriracha, Petrmina Indonesia , Petroleum Authority of Thailand, Petronas Carigali, Singapore Refinery Company, Sarawak Shell Bhd., SINOPEC China, Vietsovpetro and many more. ICS Triplex France Celebrates 10 yearsICS Triplex France will be celebrating 10 years of successful business at the Automation Europe 2005 show in Paris this month. ICS Triplex France has worked on the integration of many projects, a large number of FPSO and drilling vessels such as TOTAL Girassol & C137B, Pride Africa & Angola, Transocean Carlos, Express & Energy, Pride Amethyst (4 vessels) and projects such as Antargaz Ris Orangis, Gaz de France Cerville, Total Lussagnet, Sonatrach Assekaifef , Naftec Arzew Refinery, as well as gas compressor stations such as Bord Gais Brighouse Bay and Gazprom Blue Stream. ICS Triplex Technology Appoints new Director Julian Iredale has been appointed the new Director of ICS Triplex Technology. Having joined ICS Triplex in 2003 as the ICS Triplex EMEA Operations Manager, Julian has contributed in improving the RTS and operations services of the company. With his extensive experience from previous positions in operations management he will be working on further improvements in the manufacturing and assembly of the ICS Triplex technologies. Technology Developments Speed Monitor Module Available from October 2005 System response times are often critical for these types of application. To minimise processing delays the T8442 operates as a self contained fault tolerant control sub-system within the Trusted™ system environment. ICS Triplex ISaGRAF to Release First Commercially Available IEC 61499 Software ISaGRAF 5.0 represents natural evolution of the world-renowned ISaGRAF technology by offering exciting new features, more flexibility for the integration of partners' solutions and most notably, compliance with the IEC 61499 standard. Developed by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), IEC 61499 presents guidelines for the use of function blocks in distributed industrial process, measurement and control systems. ISaGRAF 5.0 offers unparalleled functionality and benefits by incorporating both the IEC 61131-3 and IEC 61499 standards. With ISaGRAF 5.0, users will have the ability to build traditional control systems where the interactions between devices will automatically be regulated and synchronized by the IEC 61499 function block diagrams rather than through the use of manually implemented algorithms. ISaGRAF 5.0 also benefits from the famous TIC technology integral to the previous versions of ISaGRAF. The TIC technology enables the control engine to be implemented on any hardware platform (embedded, Motorola, Intel, ARM etc.) and on any operating system (Win XP, CE, 2000, Linux, VxWorks, QNX etc.) and can be used to build automation devices such as tiny controllers, RTUs, PLCs, DCSs and safety systems. In fact, in using ISaGRAF 5.0, any field device manufacturer will have the ability to turn their equipment into an IEC 61499 product. For example, intelligent flow meters can act as a regulator and control a valve while being part of an integrated distributed control system. The ISaGRAF 5.0 beta version will be initially offered to a limited set of ICS Triplex ISaGRAF partners. The initiatives range from additional monitoring of field failures, through improvements in our manufacturing processes to a change of our manufacturing standards to enable Lead Free manufacturing and compliance with the RoHS directives. Project Focus ICS Triplex Wins Significant Project for First Pemex Living Quarters ICS Triplex will be working with SLP to provide F&G, Control and field devises for the first ever Pemex Living Quarter Platforms for the project Ku-Maloob-Zaap. HA-KU-M and HA-KU-S, two eight leg accommodation platforms, will provide 77 workers with the facilities to live and work near the new Ku-Maloob-Zaap platform. ICS Triplex was chosen for the capabilities of the Trusted™ product to provide triple modular redundant fire and gas detection with remote diagnostics, hot swap and the Zone Interface Module. These features will significantly reduce the space required for the systems as well as enable excellent communications between the two platforms and no spurious trips. ICS Triplex Wins First Order with Petroleum Authority of Thailand (PTT) ICS Triplex has been awarded their first project with PTT and will be supplying the Trusted™ safety system for the protection of the Third Transition Pipeline and the Riser Platform. The system will provide the Emergency Shutdown for the protection of the pipeline and includes the SmartSlot feature for space saving and easy maintenance. ICS Triplex Wins Petrocanada Hanlan Robb Gas Plant SIS Replacement ICS Triplex announced that they have been awarded an Emergency Shutdown (ESD) project at a major gas plant in west central Alberta, for one of Canada’s largest oil and gas companies. ICS Triplex will replace the existing PLC system within the plant with their state-of-the-art Trusted™ fault tolerant control system. ICS Triplex will team up with Hinz Automation and ACM Automation in Calgary, Alberta to deliver the system later this summer (2005). Don Segura, North America Sales Manager for ICS Triplex, said “Trusted™ was the safety system of choice after an extensive technical evaluation where the Trusted™ RunSafe™ technology was preferred for its installation, commissioning and operational features as the best solution for the gas production facility. ICS Triplex is pleased with the opportunity to work with one of Canada’s leaders in oil and gas production." ICS Triplex Starts Work on Rag & Flare Mitigation for Dukhan Project in Qatar ICS Triplex has started working on the modifications scheduled to take place at the NGL3 site of the Rag & Flare Mitigation project for the Dukhan refinery in Qatar . The project is part of the move of four NGL sites to a new flare area outside the main complex and the addition of new storage and processing areas to the existing site. A combination of upgrades from ICS2000 and installations of new ESD and F&G systems will ensure the safe running of key elements of the process, including the new Gas Compressor Unit, the Local Equipment Room 1 and 2, the new storage and distribution area and the Main control Building.

ICS Triplex is making the new Speed Monitor Module available from September this year. The Trusted™ T8442 TMR Speed Monitor monitors the shaft speed and acceleration of rotating machinery. It provides machine protection for over-speed and over-acceleration shutdown functions. Typical machinery applications include steam and gas turbines driving pumps, compressors and generators. A T8442 Speed Monitor Module within a Trusted™ System provides the capability to perform turbine speed control independent of the machinery protection functions.
