A single T6200 can handle centrifugal/axial compressor control applications ranging from a single-stage compressor up to three independent stages, making it a completely integrated compressor control system. This scalable adaptability reduces overall system complexity and cost. The Controller's universal hardware architecture and control flexibility permit configurations from anti-surge to complete performance control (capacity, load-sharing, decoupling, startup/shutdown) as required by each application. This control optimization results in energy savings, operation simplicity and high reliability.
The advantages of using the T6200 controllers:
Advanced Surge Control: Operating point tracking, look-up table curve fit and adaptive gain all contribute to the ability to safely operate the compressor close to the surge limit line.
Incipient Surge Detection/Control (T6050 SurgeGard): Detects oscillations that occur as a precursor to surge. The incipient surge detection is independent of the compressor performance map. SurgeGard provides for a wider compressor operating window.
Integrated Performance Control: Includes capacity control, suction and discharge pressure control and motor horsepower override.
Load Sharing: Ensures that load is equally balanced among machines. Results in high load efficiency.
Automated Start-up, Sequencing and Shutdown: Runup, rundown, purge, loading and decoupling control are coordinated between stages, the compressors and the process/pipeline. The process can be put on-line quickly and consistently.
