The term RunSafe™ is used to encapsulate some of the attributes of Trusted™
technology. Attributes which benefit the user by helping him achieve greater process uptime and easier management/maintenance of his safety system therefore ensuring the highest possible availability and relaibility.
A RunSafe™ system:
is designed with fault tolerance where NO single fault can cause a spurious
shutdown
despite faults, will never fail to danger
is designed to be safe for energised and de-energised philosophies
can withstand multiple faults and continue SAFE operation
does not require rapid replacement of a faulty component to maintain the same level of safety
does not have to be programmed to shutdown if a repair is not made
identifies problems in the field devices to allow repair before failure
provides detailed diagnosis of field device and environmental conditions
allows diagnosis of system health from anywhere in the world
